This patient asked Dr. Hughes to perform a very specific request. She wanted to have a breast augmentation with silicone implants, but she did not want a breast lift, which she had been told was necessary by other plastic surgeons during consultations. Dr. Hughes also thought that the patient would need a breast lift and told her this, but he also thought that the breast lift could be avoided by very specific dissection processes. The breast augmentation produced a fabulous result, which avoided the increased scarring necessary in performing a breast lift.

This patient did have some drooping or ptosis of the breasts and was a borderline breast lift patient. Dr. Hughes placed 520 cc high profile gummy bear implants for this breast augmentation patient in such a fashion that the patient avoided a lift and has a very nice symmetric and lifted appearance.

This type of pocket dissection is a very skill driven undertaking that few plastic surgeons have mastered.
