This patient opted for a more conservative buttock augmentation with smaller round implants placed by Dr. Hughes. The result is noticeable and natural and tasteful. Dr. Hughes will place from 300 cc to 712 cc butt implants depending upon the anatomy of the patient and the goals for augmentation. Dr. Hughes typically places round implants as these tend to give a fuller, rounder buttock appearance and can be placed to give the illusion of hips as well. Oval implants do not provide lateral fullness or roundness only projection and oval implants will certainly not create the illusion of hips. In addition, no matter the design of oval implants they can rotate due the intrinsic and obvious difference in axis lengths of the implant.
