The Wrinkle-Free Results Of Radiesse

As we progress through the natural aging process, our skin becomes less and less elastic, and the amount of collagen we produce in our bodies also decreases. This leads to fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin in unwanted areas.

Thankfully, we can be wrinkle-free very conveniently by using cosmetic fillers that smoothens wrinkling skin and replenishes our skin’s, giving us a refreshed and rejuvenated look. One of the most popular filler choices available is Radiesse. It is an injectable filler that is used to treat facial wrinkles and fill out sunken areas, such as those on the backs of hands and under the eyes.

How Does Radiesse Work?

Radiesse is a dermal filler that consists of calcium hydroxyl apatite (CaHA) microspheres that are suspended in an aqueous gel made of carboxymethylcellulose. This combination of compounds produces swift and effective results. The initial effects patients will experience are enhanced volume in sunken areas and a reduction in age lines.

Longer term results are brought about as the CaHA microspheres stimulate the natural production of collagen in and around the treated area. The CaHA microspheres are made up of calcium and phosphate which also occur naturally in our bodies, and the carboxymethylcellulose gel is made of carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, sterile water, and glycerin, which are all natural elements. This makes Radiesse a non-toxic and non-allergenic dermal filler which was engineered to be biocompatible.

Radiesse Treatment Areas

Radiesse can be used to treat many problem areas, such as smile lines, marionette lines, frown lines, and nasolabial folds. It can also be used for lip augmentation, nasal augmentation, chin reshaping, jaw line contouring, and cheek enhancement as well. It also has non-cosmetic uses, such as in facial lipoatrophy, relieving nasal obstruction, and vocal cord correction.

Radiesse Treatment Process

The procedure is a simple and is done in your cosmetic surgeon’s office, generally under local anesthesia. It is a very safe procedure in the hands of an experienced doctor. After applying some antiseptic and local anesthesia, the doctor selects the injection point(s) in the treatment area and administers the filler in the desired target areas. One treatment session takes around 15 minutes and for those who have busy schedules, it can be done over a lunch break.

Radiesse Results And Recovery

There is virtually no downtime after a Radiesse session. Patients can return home almost immediately after the procedure is over. Immediate results will be visible, but final results will take about a week to settle in. This is because there will be some swelling which takes about a week to fully subside. There may also be some bruising and discomfort, but these can be managed with medication prescribed by your doctor.

After receiving the injection, your doctors will recommend that patients stay out of the sun for a couple of days, but other normal activities can be resumed immediately. Radiesse provides a long period of effectiveness because of the enhanced collagen production that is stimulated by the filler. Its effects can last between 9 to 18 months, after which additional sessions may be required in order to maintain the effects.
