Pectoral Implants
Pectoral implants, also known as pec implants, come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and volumes and can be altered to create almost any effect. The volumes can range widely but most males choose 200 cc to 300 cc or so of added volume. The implants are composed of a cohesive silicone gel. The gel can be shaped on the operating room table to create the contours the patient has requested. In addition, the implants can be tailored to fit exactly the pectoralis major muscle and chest wall dimensions.

ideal candidates
If you want to give your chest a more sculpted look, you may be a good candidate for pectoral implants. Pec implants may be recommended if you want to improve the masculine contours of your chest without spending years at the gym.
Since it is an invasive procedure, it is of utmost importance that you are in good overall health. Ideally, you should be a non-smoker and should not have any underlying conditions that may hinder your healing.
your consultation
Your initial consultation at Hughes Plastic Surgery involves a physical examination of your pectoral region. You will also be asked about your medical history, especially current medications and any health conditions.
You and Dr. Hughes will discuss your goals and desired results. After that, an individualized treatment plan will be developed. The size and shape of your pectoral implants will be determined for the best outcome.
pectoral implant surgery day
Dr. Kenneth Hughes can place these implants through several incision choices, but the axillary placement in the male allows for the inferior insertions of the pectoralis major muscle to remain intact. The incision is also well hidden in the hair bearing area of the armpit.
The procedure usually takes 1 to 2 hours depending upon complexity and the patient should typically avoid strenuous activity for about 6 weeks.
Dr. Hughes can also perform pectoral etching to improve the chest contours as well.
patient testimonial
This man is a genius. I had my 1st procedure done with Dr. Hughes in November 2014 and it was the best decision I ever made! He made the procedure seamless and stress-free, and I’m loving the results. Wish I would have called him sooner! Thank you, Dr. Hughes!!
recovery after pectoral implant surgery
After your pectoral augmentation procedure, you will need a recovery period of up to several weeks. You will be wearing a compression garment for about three to four weeks. You will experience a degree of bruising, swelling, pain, and/or redness in the first week.
Your incisions can take about two weeks to heal. Limit the movements and activities of your upper extremities until your incisions are healed.
