Chin Liposuction Procedure

What is Chin Liposuction?

Chin liposuction, more accurately termed submental liposuction, can radically improve jaw and chin contours without making any noticeable scars in the appropriately selected patients. The technique can be used in conjunction with chin implants, Facetite and Bodytite, facelifts, and neck lifts to make an even more marked improvement or in patient who have more age related changes in the face and neck.

As people age, skin laxity or looseness becomes greater.  Patients will eventually need face lifts or neck lifts to address hanging neck skin and fat as well as loose muscle in the neck called platysma.

Ideal Candidates for Chin Liposuction

If you have excess fat under your chin, you may be a good candidate for this procedure.  Those patients who have fatty deposits but good skin quality are the best candidates for this procedure.  If you have sagging skin around your chin or neck, it may be time to explore other options, which Dr. Kenneth Hughes can explain to you as well.

It is important to maintain a positive attitude and realistic goals when you plan to undergo this surgery. The best candidates for this procedure are in good overall health and are non-smokers (or are willing to quit 1 month before the date of surgery).

Patient Reviews and Testimonials for Chin Liposuction with Dr. Kenneth Hughes

Dr. Hughes and staff have been very helpful and patient with me. Dr Hughes answered all of my questions promptly by email and also spent 20 minutes on the phone with me discussing liposuction and a chin implant. He is direct and honest which I feel is what prospective patients need to look for in a surgeon. I have decided to move forward with chin/jawline liposuction because of the Dr & staff’s willingness to work with me. I have had difficulty deciding on the chin implant because my recessed chin and deviated septum cause breathing difficulties and because these are coupled with TMJ and neck pain I may need to do some kind of functional surgery. Again and his staff have been cool and I have not felt pressured. Will be going in for an in person assessment and will update my results after the liposuction
