Belotero is available in different formulations specific for the region of treatment. One common feature of all the products is the presence of lidocaine. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that effectively minimizes discomfort and pain.

Doctors recommend avoiding direct sunlight, alcoholic beverages, strenuous activity which induce sweating, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for 24 hours after the injection.
