This was a male patient who had loose skin on the abdomen and very little fat. Dr. Hughes was able to harvest enough fat through liposuction to produce a significant change in overall body shape while leaving the abdomen looking better and smoother than before surgery. Liposuction removes fat and never improves skin. In fact, it has the potential to make skin worse because you are taking volume out (much like taking air out of a balloon – it wrinkles as the volume decreases). However, Dr. Hughes is extremely skilled at producing a vey uniform liposuction flap, which allows for the best redrape of the skin envelope to the underlying abdominal wall. The buttock projection and roundness are improved as well for the Brazilian buttlift portion of the surgery.
