Breast Reconstruction and Breast Deformity Correction: Before & After Photos
Surgeries performed by award winning Los Angeles plastic surgeon, Dr. Kenneth Hughes
Before | After |
This patient had a great deal of constriction and droop preoperatively. The patient chose a transumbilical approach for breast augmentation (through the belly button). Notice the absence of scars on the breast. A submuscular approach was chosen to give a more natural takeoff at the superior aspect of the implant and to provide better camouflage for the implant. She opted for saline augmentation with 575 ml implants.
Dr. Hughes created a result that is natural and symmetric even with very large implants and very challenging preoperative anatomy. Dr. Hughes created breasts with more fullness in the midline and breasts that are lifted and with better projection. Dr. Hughes’s attention to detail allows him to take breasts, which are far from ideal or round and create round, full breasts.

This patient had some constriction and a wide space preoperatively. The patient chose a transumbilical approach for breast augmentation. A submuscular approach was chosen to give a more natural takeoff at the superior aspect of the implant and to provide better camouflage for the implant. She opted for saline augmentation with high profile 525 ml implants.

This patient had previous augmentation and the sizes were different. She had capsular contracture causing deformity on the left breast. Dr. Hughes created a result that is natural and symmetric even with very large implants and very challenging preoperative anatomy. You cannot see the periareolar scars. Th aptient had 500 ml high profile saline implants placed in a retropectoral position.

This patient was concerned about the very droopy nature of her breasts, but she did not want a lift. She did not want scars on her breasts. This patient chose a transumbilical approach for her breast enlargement surgery. A submuscular approach was chosen to give a more natural takeoff at the superior aspect of the implant and to provide better camouflage for the implant. She opted for high profile saline implants with 500 ml volume. Dr. Hughes created a result that is natural and symmetric. Her breasts are lifted and full, and she did not require a scar on her breasts.

This patient had much less than perfect anatomy before her surgery. She had constricted breasts in the before picture. Dr. Hughes can take less than perfect anatomy and give the patient round, full, well defined breasts in anyone. This patient chose a transumbilical approach for her breast enlargement surgery. A submuscular approach was chosen to give a more natural takeoff at the superior aspect of the implant and to provide better camouflage for the implant. She opted for saline implants with high profile 425 ml implants. Dr. Hughes created a result that is natural and symmetric. There is no evidence of her previous constriction and no visible scar.

This patient had a previous breast augmentation surgery that caused a double bubble deformity. Dr. Hughes got rid of the second fold under her breasts during a one hour surgery in which he reconstructed her old breast pocket. 525 ml high profile silicone implants were kept intact under the pectoralis muscle.

Dr. Hughes placed 675 ml high profile saline implants through the belly button and was somehow able to equalize the breasts despite substantial left breast droop. Also notice how Dr. Hughes was able to close down the huge space in the middle of the breasts.

This patient received breast augmentation with 525 ml saline implants placed under the muscle through the belly button (transumbilical augmentation, TUBA). This approach allows breast augmentation to be performed without any scars on the breast. The scar is hidden inside the belly button. Dr. Hughes achieves fantastic results with this technique four or five times a day. Few people have the training to perform this type of breast augmentation, and that is the primary reason why many surgeons perform augmentation through other incisions.

This patient received breast augmentation through the transumbilical “through the belly button” approach with 525 ml implants placed under the muscle. Despite the much droopier right breast prior to surgery, Dr. Hughes was able to equalize this breast. The postoperative photo shows dramatic improvement on the operating table with the patient sitting up.
