The Lip Lift with Dr. Hughes in Los Angeles
Lip Lift Los Angeles
Dr. Kenneth Hughes performs several variations of the lip lift in Los Angeles. The two most common variants are the bullhorn lip lift and the direct excisional lip lift and its variants.
Bullhorn Lip Lift Los Angeles
Dr. Hughes performs what is referred to a bullhorn lift in which the incision is camouflaged at the base of the nose. This lip lift can be used for two purposes in general. The lip can be lifted to elevate it or make it look larger or both. In addition, the procedure can be used to reduce distance between the lip and the nose and to create better facial balance and proportions.

The Fashioning of the Lip Lift Scar
The most important consideration in this procedure is how the scar is fashioned. Dr. Hughes sometimes avoids the central portion of the incision, if possible, and places the incisions totally within the nostrils. This of course depends upon a number of factors including preoperative lip anatomy and preoperative nose to lip distance. If the central portion of the incision must be made, the rest of the incision should be tapered back into the nostrils to allow for scar concealment. The lip lift is frequently combined with rhinoplasty and facelift procedures.
